David Ondijo (PhD)

Deputy Executive Director

David has been in the fields of research, education, and training for 22 years since graduation from Kenyatta University, Kenya, with a Bachelor of Science and Education degree in 1990. He also holds a Master of Science in Biosystematics, obtained in 1996 under a Kenyatta University Staff Development Scholarship. Mr. Ondijo has just concluded a Doctorate of Population Dynamics at Kenyatta University under a European Union Scholarship. His research experience cuts across physical and social science having started working with the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) before embarking on social research. 

Mr. Ondijo has taught at the university level since 1997, first at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, then later at the Technical University of Kenya where he is currently based, principally teaching research design and data analysis. He has also worked as Co-Consultant with a number of local consultancy firms since 2000. 

Mr. Ondijo has a wealth of experience in designing surveys and impact monitoring and evaluations, using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods. He has implemented bespoke surveys and assessments which meet diverse ranges of needs in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. He has also conducted trainings on research design, survey methods, data analysis and report writing. 

As a Consultant, he has carried out assignments for various organizations that include Save the Children International (SCI), Nordic International Support Foundation (NIS), Finn Church Aid (FCA), Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Dutch Refugee Council (DRC), Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit (FSNAU), FAO Adeso (formerly Horn Relief), UNICEF, TASS, Shaqodoon Organization, Del Monte, Christian Partners Development Agency, Community Mobilization against Desertification. 


At Smart Vision David is in charge of research design, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation.
