Ismail Aden Haibe – Cheif Executive Officer
The new CEO, Ismail Haibe has brought a wealth of experience to Smart Vision Consultancy and as expected will catapult the organization to even greater heights. Noteworthy, he is not new to SVCD having been SVCD’s Somaliland Representative and Senior Researcher/Team Leader/Qualitative expert in Somalia and Somaliland.
As CEO, Haibe offers strategic direction to the versatile team at SVCD, and is the key and focal point in designing programmatic work and assigning duties to a strong team of consultants, programme and administrative staff. It is his preserve to make major decisions at the corporate level, be in charge overall in the management of operations, finances and offering requisite linkages such as communication between the board of directors and the organisation. Consequently, he supervises and offers guidance to all teams for quality control and adherence in order to set the standards for efficient delivery of services within set timelines.
A holder of Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Development Studies with several diplomas, certificates and short course certificates, Haibe, a bilingual, boasts of over 17 years experience in organizational work. He has previously offered his professional expertise in an array of business environment, rendering services for many years in research, market systems development, administration and finance, project management, monitoring evaluation, fisheries and value chain development. Besides, he has led over 30 consultancy services include monitoring and evaluations [both mid and end line], surveys, researches, feasibility studies, organizational developments and trainings.

Ismail is native in Somali, fluent in English and proficient in Arabic.

David Ondijo (PhD) – Deputy Executive Director
David has been in the fields of research, education, and training for 22 years since graduation from Kenyatta University, Kenya, with a Bachelor of Science and Education degree in 1990. He also holds a Master of Science in Biosystematics, obtained in 1996 under a Kenyatta University Staff Development Scholarship. Mr. Ondijo has just concluded a Doctorate of Population Dynamics at Kenyatta University under a European Union Scholarship.
His research experience cuts across physical and social science having started working with the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) before embarking on social research.
Mr. Ondijo has taught at the university level since 1997, first at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, then later at the Technical University of Kenya where he is currently based, principally teaching research design and data analysis. He has also worked as Co-Consultant with a number of local consultancy firms since 2000.
Mr. Ondijo has a wealth of experience in designing surveys and impact monitoring and evaluations, using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods. He has implemented bespoke surveys and assessments which meet diverse ranges of needs in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. He has also conducted trainings on research design, survey methods, data analysis and report writing.
As a Consultant, he has carried out assignments for various organizations that include Save the Children International (SCI), Nordic International Support Foundation (NIS), Finn Church Aid (FCA), Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Dutch Refugee Council (DRC), Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit (FSNAU), FAO Adeso (formerly Horn Relief), UNICEF, TASS, Shaqodoon Organization, Del Monte, Christian Partners Development Agency, Community Mobilization against Desertification.
At Smart Vision David is in charge of research design, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation.

Osman is a dedicated and committed result-driven Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and learning consultant with skills, knowledge, and experience to implement complex projects within the field of M&E and Research. Ahmed comes with more than a decade of first-hand experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research through his career with various international and national organizations operating in Somalia/Somaliland at both fulltime and short time engagements. In the 10 years Osman has delivered more than 30 assignments that include projects and programs evaluation, independent monitoring, research, needs assessment, M&E training, and capacity building across different sectors from Food security and livelihoods to Economic growth, education, good governance, health and nutrition, WASH, Natural resource management among several others.
Osman has worked with many organizations over the past ten years at different M&E capacities that include Caritas, care international, USAID, RTI International, Save the Children, ILO, UNDP, I-APS, Candlelight, Pharo Ventures, Relief International, DFID, World Bank Group, and handful of international M&E consulting companies in Somalia/Somaliland. Ahmed has double MA in Project Management and Planning and Community development. He Possesses excellent skills for communication and delivery of reports to stakeholders and competent in analysis of projects’ complex datasets using MS Excel, DHIS2, Open Data Kit, NVivo, Atlas.ti, Epi Info, SPSS, and STRATA. He is native in Somali, fluent in English and proficient in Arabic.

As education and development specialist and practitioner, Mr. Abdirahman Hassan Yussuf holds M.A. in Education Planning and Curriculum Studies (Curriculum Development for Higher Education Institutions) and M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from Ndejje University and Kampala International University respectively which are prestigious institutions found in Uganda.
With a first degree in Development Studies from St. Lawrence University in Uganda and a diploma in Education from Garowe Teachers’ Education College in Somalia, Mr. Abdirahman Hassan has a concrete background in development programmes in conflict zones in the Horn of Africa including with a proven track record of 7 years in both private sector and Non-government organizations.
Mr. Abdirahman is renowned for strategic planning, development of organizational policies and procedures, training, proposal design and development, project and program assessment and evaluation and research consultancy.
For the last five (5) years He has accepted to undertake several research activities in the field of Gender and youth and Basic Education for adult refugees in Uganda refugee camps and among others.
Mr. Abdirahman has conducted a number of needs assessment and third independent monitoring assignments in 2016 with Smart Vision Consultancy and Development in Puntland State of Somalia and South Central Somalia.

As an international education consultant Dr. Stone has worked in the United States, Cyprus, Somalia, Pakistan and Kenya. Her contract experience includes project management, project design, proposal writing, project assessment (both baseline and final assessments) and project staff capacity development.
She has served as the Coordinator for the Somali Education Sector Committee (agencies and NGOs that work in education in Somalia), providing her a broad view of the scope of interventions undertaken and regular, first-hand interaction with government officials, NGOs, and UN and donor agencies.
Dr. Stone’s clients have included USAID, European Union, Save the Children UK, Save the Children US, CARE International, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNHCR, Adeso, Diakonia, and Concern Worldwide. At Smart Vision, Dr. Stone is in charge of contracts, advocacy and quality assurance.
Abdulkadir Khalif

Abdulkadir Khalif – South Central Representative
The Samrt Vision representative in South and Central Somalia, Mr. Abdulkadir, graduated from Grimsby College of Technology in Britain as a Food Technologist. He later attended various courses offered by reputable institutions.
Over the years, Mr. Yusuf worked in the production sector including fish plants, milk, meat, and sugar and shoe factories. He has extensively worked with the Somali civil society organizations, serving as a board member for Peace and Human Rights Network (PHRN).
He has recently acquired an MBA Degree. Besides his education and experience, Mr, Abdulkadir exhibits enviable flexibility, cutting across several sectors like food and nutrition, humanitarian aid, youth and women empowerment, human rights and training of trainers (TOT).
Born in Beletweyne, he brings to Smart Vision the competitive edge of being familiar with the social-cultural, economic and political spheres of this fragile community.

Ahmed Yusuf Ali holds two Master of Arts (MA)- an MA of International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid studies from Spain in 2013 and MA in Sociology from Rift Valley University (2015). He qualified for Certified Manager from James Madison University in 2019.
He has vast experience working as program manager with different NGOs in Ethiopia. He served as Country Director for INGOs until very recently. As a lead consultant, he has successively undertaken several humanitarian and development research activities in the greater Horn of Africa.
He is a member of the Institute of Professional Certified Managers and been a much sought after resource person for many national umbrella organizations, network entities and national dialogue organs.
Ahmed has acquired extensive understanding and experience in Ethiopia’s current economic, political and social contexts. Through rigorous reading and continuous situation analysis, he developed insightful understanding of the Horn of Africa.
His curiosity has given him ample background to the past, understanding of the present and analytical base to the future patterns and spillover effect of envisaged regional economic integration. Ahmed will be our representative in Ethiopia.

Professor Willy Muturi is a holder of BA (First class honors), MA (Economics) both from the University of Nairobi and a PhD in Economics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. He is an Associate professor of Economics at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has been Associate dean of the School of Human Resource Development and Chairman of Economics Accounting and Finance department in JKUAT.
Pro. Willy Muturi has a wide experience in research since 1990 when he was employed as a Research scientist at Kenya forestry research Institute. Since Joining JKUAT in 1992, he has supervised over 100 postgraduate students both at Masters and PhD levels and has more than 100 publications to his credit.
He has consulted widely for both local and international institutions including Insurance regulatory authority, FSD trust (Kenya), JICA, ILO/UNDP and the World Bank. He has also been in a team which has won a competitive grant from Nacosti and IDRC. He has also developed many training Programs at JKUAT.

A Smart Vision Professional, Mr. Ahmed graduated from Howard University in Washington D.C., United States. He holds MBA degree major in Management. He is also KPI Institute Certified Strategy and Business Planning Professional.
Mr. Ahmed is currently undertaking various assignments in the public sector such as HR Audits, developing civil service Policies and Procedures and organizational development and performance improvement.
In the private sector, Mr Ahmed worked as corporate consultant, mainly focusing on restructuring business organizations and leadership training and development. In the past, Mr. Ahmed worked as a Dean of School of Business in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia and as Accountant for a consulting firm in the Unites States.
As a member of Smart Vison professionals, he is highly regarded for his superb and valuable contributions and quality track record.

Godfrey is a seasoned consultant and experienced person in vast areas of administration and management. He holds a BA from Makerere University a post graduate diploma in Public Administration and Management, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management both from Uganda Management Institute. He has completed a taught Doctoral of Philosophy in Management and Administration at Uganda Management Institute focusing on; Stakeholder Perspectives on Policy Evaluation and Quality of Primary Education in Uganda.
Currently, Godfrey lectures at Uganda Management Institute on M&E, Public Administration, research methods, strategic planning and management, and he has supervised over 40 masters students.
Godfrey has over 25 years of overall experience, acquired in Public and private sectors in management and consultancy, which has equipped him with practical skills in public sector management, Decentralisation and Local Governance, programme monitoring and evaluation, financial management and human resource management skills.
Godfrey has specifically conducted baseline surveys, evaluations, developed strategic plans, organisational capacity assessments, and institutional assessment and development. Some of his past clients include; Office of the President (Uganda), Office of the Prime Minister (Uganda), Civil Service Commission (Somaliland), UNDP (Uganda), ZOA (South Sudan) USAID (Uganda), GIZ (Uganda), EU (Uganda), FAO (Uganda), Ministry of Agriculture (Uganda), and Uganda Registration Services Bureau.
He has a sound understanding of business and project management at both the central and Local Government levels. His steady and progressive years of experience at management, training and consultancy levels has given him significant exposure in a number of public and private sector economic development projects.
